WERNER GUEST HOUSE

1705 Yates Ave., Horton, KS.  66439

Don and Connie Werner opened the Werner Guest House in 2010, a two-bedroom guesthouse on Mission Lake in Horton, Kansas.  Connie had dreamed of being an innkeeper for more than 20 years, but timing is everything, and the time was 2010.

Werner Guest House is nestled between Mission Lake at the fore view and Werner Wagon Works, a historically rich wagon shop where, for more than 26 years, Don has been building new and restoring all types of horse-drawn conveyances.  If you are interested in the history of wagon building, you are welcome to take a guided tour of the wagon shop.

Werner Guest House has two theme rooms--the Cowboy Room and the Country Room.  Each has been refurbished and decorated to carry out its theme.  Each room also has its own bathroom, television, DVD/VCR, coffee pot, microwave oven, refrigerator and queen-size bed.  A wide selection of movies, including westerns, family-friendly features and kids' shows, is available, at no extra charge.

In the commons area of the house there is a small library, a place to sit and visit in front of the fireplace, a dining area and a public restroom. Guests may also sit and relax on the front porch in high back rockers, which has a lakefront view.

A big country breakfast is served with that old-fashion service and a friendly smile.

So if you're looking for a relaxing getaway, wish to go boating, water skiing, fishing, hunting or are here to see family and friends, please give Werner Guest House a visit.

For reservation please call Connie at 785-548-5500.
